Kew

Welcome to another trip to Kew.
the beds are ready for replanting for summer - I assume that will start soon (the planting, not necessarily summer!)
still some colour in the pots on the pond edge
the babies were huddled on the path, but got up by the time I'd changed lens...
then followed Mum along the path
heading for some grass!

so cute!!

as we watched they suddenly all stood up and raced along the grass to the round bed at the end of the path.

the gorgeous anemones in the bed at the top of the Broad Walk are still going strong
walking down the Broad Walk

my favourites

further along they are bigger varieties
the bees liked the white ones

a Henry down near the Orangery

more irises

round towards the grass garden.

no sign of the fox cubs today

echiums in the rock garden
iris in the bed along the side of the evolution garden
the roses are really coming out now

poppies in the evolution garden

wish you could get closer to the white ones but they are at the back of a bed
another rose

peonies

we went for an early cuppa and met some regular members so chatted a while

8.50 am isn't too early for cake.... surely?

heading past Henry at the Palm House on our way to the lake

where we found some goslings

sat on the bench a while

the sun was trying to shine

on the grass behind us some more babies - they'd been hiding behind mum before

the tree trunk next to the bench had a load of fluffy feathers stuck to the base

by the lake crossing a few yards along the path we found the swans

under the swamp cypress tree the other side of the crossing was a squirrel

carried on walking along the path

then cut across the grass  past a Henry

climbed the bank on the other side
to the path along the river

rhododendron dell

we took the path through the rhododendrons for a bit
there were lots of bees out

they were still looking fabulous, and although some looked as if they'd been battered by the hail storm on Wednesday most were ok

we cut through the bamboo garden back to the lake

this time we crossed the lake

and walked along the other side.

this tree has moss in the bark looking like paint

by the small lily pond

we headed for the woodland but no sign of Goldie, just Peter so we stopped for another chat...

lots of crows and magpies but not a lot else
sweet chestnut flowers
the Henry at the Pagoda
by the Temperate House, but had the wrong lens on

Mediterranean garden

I decided to head home from here, to get this written and posted before the cup final starts - very soon!

part of another Henry
by the wild rose garden
the palm house through the wild rose garden

I wanted to catch the Henry by the Victoria entrance which I am sure I missed before

I changed lens to get it all in,  there were lots of people so had to wait turn to get it de-peopled!!

thanks for looking - made it to publish this just in time for kick off!

don't really care who wins, as I don't support either team playing so we'll see....

hope you'll come back next week when currently the forecast is set to get very warm!!
