Kew - May 28th

I am having a nightmare transferring photos to my computer recently but made it!

A beautiful sunny morning at Kew follows - enjoy!

the sky was gloriously blue
and the fountain was on
the tubs have been re-planted too

the alliums by the Palm house are already finished but will go to seed and be gorgeous for ages
I walked round by the pond

there was a large drift of irises by the pond

southern marsh orchid

walking round towards the evolution garden

peonies in the sun

the "gardener" statue has been given flower to go with his thistle

the scent on the roses in the EG beds was lovely

the pergola looking fabulous
at the end of the EG  the wild flower bed is coming into flower -  stunning

as I went through into the rock garden I found a new information board -  photo'd it mainly for Elizabeth as she loves the rock garden

even before they open in full sun the californian poppies look great
on the Broad Walk now

this is a salvia I think

the alliums at the further end are still in great condition- they're a later variety

I cut across the grass from the Broad Walk coming to the side of the Waterlily house
sum big tubs outside the back of the Waterlily house,

I think these plants have been moved from the Temperate House or even the Palm House

then through the Rose Garden where it is now flourishing - scents were fabulous

then along to see "Matt and Helen" again

blogger is being a pain, sorry. don't have time to faff about

then the Meditteranean garden

and another look at the Breach - love those mirrors

as you approach... multiple views

and then some from the phone

from a distance, heading for the lake

Indian sweet chestnut, smothered in flowers

such pretty flowers
King William's temple

loved the shadows.

new pots placed outside the main door of the Temperate house

these next half dozen or so are out of order, thanks blogger

sun through the huge acer that goes such gorgeous colours in autumn,  outside the gallery

crossing the grass with Matt and Helen in the distance, towards the gallery

Kym was waiting for the gallery to open at 10 too

we wanted to see "where flowers dream"  by Pip and Pop (Tanya Schultz)  part of the Food Forever event

we had to put shoe protectors on...
and went in to the exhibition...

"chandeliers"  in sugar sweet pastels

through the doorway....
the walls of the gallery have been covered
in pastel flowery images
not sure if you can read
then into the main gallery
this is the link to the Kew website that gives bit more info  (running late, can't write it out)

looked like a pastel pink version of Willy Wonka's factory

heading back down the path to the Victoria gate

where it was breakfast time
the outside tables have had summer event information added to them

then a quick walk through the palm house

couldn't get very good pics of these....
tried for the water drops though!
then the waterlily house
new pad coming, the others are still going strong

I was also thrilled that the hanging basket cactus was still flowering

hibiscus round the outside of the pond

lotus flower

walked through the rose garden again to head for the temperate house
foxglvoes and cistus in the med garden

my fave silver daisy bush, of course

today I could go up to the viewing platform

it's great looking down

love the patterns of the ferns

back on the ground
growing through the roof!  (Echium Pinanina)

from the side - you can't walk down this path it's for Kew gardeners only
the tubs of daisies
bird of paradise -  most starting to fade now

view down the outside wall, love the carvings

heading back along the pathway-  Matt and Helen visible from way off
the huge japanese dogwood

all those goslings are now back in smaller family groups

tulip tree

heading round to the Princess of Wales so I don't miss that out

planting outside the POW

top of the rock garden

alpine house

californian poppies outside the alpine house

now fully open

sorry this has been so rushed, I am off to a wedding reception this evening and could have done without computer issues slowing me down

thanks for looking.  next weekend is the Platinum Jubilee long bank holiday but it will be Kew on Saturday as usual!
