Another early start - scorchio!

Temperatures are still higher than I like in the UK and humid too.  However, I woke early and set off for Kew, complete with a straw hat and suncream, and luckily abandoned my normal attire of jeans for a long dress.
the flowers at the entrance were looking gorgeous with the 8am sun shining brightly through the planting.

wispy cloud, beautiful blue skies and already warm (soon abandoned the cardigan draped over my shoulders, which I had only brought for sun shade)
the pond behind a bowl of perlagoniums
laden down shadow with camera bag, bag with drink and suncream.. so glad I wore the straw hat, definitely needed that today even at 8am

hazy sunshine still but not for long!
the sun was glistening through the planting here too

a still empty Broad Walk, although this week unlike last, there were dozens of early visitors
Dew on the lilies., the grass was heavy with dew too (nice and cool to walk on!)
 pretty blue scabious
 such a bright summery yellow

just love these white Coneflowers (Echinachea)

even though these are looking past it they're still pretty.

up at the top of the wildflower meadow at the Hive, again

just about got it empty and to myself for a couple of minutes, just love the shapes the aluminium structure makes

and the shadows on the ground below, through the glass, it's like looking through water.
and the shapes of the top against the (beautiful) blue sky
planting outside the Princess of Wales glasshouse, love these bronze leaves, with the sun shining through them...

 bright oranges and reds

love the reflections of the iris in the water

 the grasses garden..
Echinops in the Duke's Garden, covered in bees, hundreds of them

I found another clump of these purple unfurling flowers today, with a label - Veronicastrum.. so now we know!

no lying on the grass for my artistic shots today, was still wet with due.

the Rock Garden (last time I shared some photos from here, Elizabeth mentioned she'd not seen it before... I don't often linger, but the colour has been gorgeous this year)

 grasses
 inviting looking shade!
the bed that was so hazy an hour earlier, now in full sun.

the Pagoda

the rusty top of the Treetop Walkway lift shaft (I didn't cheat, i climbed the steps..)
and another shadow selfie on the way down!
a quiet spot in the Mediterranean garden, where I stopped for a few minutes rest in the shade...
 waterlilies in the waterlily house
and some more Coneflowers before I headed home - only stayed till 11 today, it was getting so hot, too much for me to take so it was time to come home.

Thanks for looking again.

Hats off to you climbing those steps in the heat....I couldn't do it in cool! Lovely post & thanks for sharing all that beauty.

I ,once the wilder flower planting. And the cone flowers. And the empty broad walk. It's glorious, no wonder you have to go even in the heat!!

Gosh Helen, I can so understand why you love Kew. These colours are so compelling. You always post a delicious selection that are such a joy to look through. I love the idea of including the aluminium structures followed by the bronze leaves. The veins in the leaves resembling the intricacy of the structures. You need to produce a book of Kew. Love the shadow photos too. Great selection.
