Back to Saturday, back to Kew.
it was quite grey for most of the morning the bed at the top of the Broad Walk still has all the dahlias in full colour, after last week's work
we headed past the huge tree at the end of the BroadWalk
tree outside the the Princess of Wales
we had a quick walk through the POWwe headed through the rock garden on the top path
before heading to the big acer at the junction to the evolution garden
cardoon
strawflowers hanging to dry
I was crouching down to change lens
so I could get all this in!still lots of strawflowers in the cutting beds in the veg garden
I can't decide if the camera rotated this incorrectly or not
through the evolution garden - Lynne I don't know what these are, I couldn't see the label!
however Kim has checked - it's Monk's Hood (aconitum)
strawberry tree
callicarpa
the huge liquidamber tree across the other side of the Broad Walk
pausing for berries
liquidamber
the leaves are beautiful
oh blogger!!
I'd brought us some of the M&S gingerbread and white chocolate cookies (I am addicted to them at present)
and I had hot (not that hot) chocolate again
I tried to take some of the boards of info but not sure if you'll be able to read them
Chittamwood - remembered to look at the label this week!
I can't resist this view
and then at the exit, the large tub of coleus.

oh blogger!!
well the leaves are from one of the trees in the next few photos
it was a shame the sun wasn't out yet
the back of some of the redder leaves were as pretty too
sitting on the refurbished Lockerbie memorial bench on the way to the lake
at the lake we found Peter and the heron who we've not seen for a couple of weeks
there were still quite a few greylags but not as many as last week.

there were a couple who were splashing around and turning upside down
in the lake
there was a cormorant too but too far away for my lens
the trees on the island the other side of the lake crossing
