Kew

It was good to get out and in some fresh air today after a couple of days slobbing on the sofa... destination Kew of course, being Saturday (about the only day this week I've know what day it is...)

Kim started early with the candid shots. It was a chilly wait outside this morning
before moving on to her opening shot of my opening shot!

we headed to the Princess of Wales conservatory first,  to warm up

there's a new titan arum on display

alpine house

walking through the rock garden

the snowdrops are spreading
not much in the evolution garden

the water drops on the leaves of the kardoon were almost frozen

we headed up through rhododendron dell towards the woodland, and near the bamboo garden came across some decorated bamboo on the light trail

we got to the birdfeeder area (blogger is reversing again)
this week there were lots of squirrels and loads of birds mostly blue tits and great tits

love all the lichen on this tree

it was great to see Goldie again

they are hard to catch before they fly off again from the bench!

someone had put some fat-balls in some feeders which the parakeets were loving

then we went to the lake past the small pond,  there ware some reflections of trees at least
reeds round the lake
we noticed a mandarin duck, we've not seen any for a long time.

Kim through down some food which brought pigeons swooping down
and the duck out of the water
gulls flying around
geese splash landing

we carried on to the lake crossing

before heading to the Temperate House

we ended in the cafe for refreshments before leaving

thanks for looking - still the possibility of an extra trip before going back to work, depending on the weather and energy!!
