Hello, another sunny and even mild trip to Kew..Enjoy.
look at the shadows on the flower bed!the pond was also looking fabulous
it would have been handy to have the ultra wide angle lens with me, but I don't often carry it due to the weight
this is the phone version
this is the round one at the end of the pond that you can't get close enough to for my liking!
we took a walk along the Broad Walk
some of the hellebores were facing upwards for a change
thisis across the grass towards the Hive
whilst Kim was photographing the blooms from one side I crept under the branches of the magnolia and peeked out at her....
I was keen to catch this drop of rain in the petal...
loving the blue sky backdrop, so much prettier!
we turned the corner towards the Princess of Wales conservatory.
there is so much more blossom than last week
I always love this plant
in the arid cacti section
no cacti flowering but the plant in front (which I've forgotten what it is) look like it's growing on the cactus
we could hear a robin singing as we went up the steps to the upper level, eventually we saw him!
in the Alpine house next
next through to the evolution garden where a patch of pampas grass was glowing in the sun
and some more glorious magnolias
this deep pink one was too far into a bed to get closer shots.
we headed back towards the Palm House
in the sun whilst we were looking at this, it seemed quite white, but the photos still look pink!
I had chocolate fudge cake and Kim fruity flapjack (new to the choice, but apparently not fabulous)
then it was round the rose garden to the Yoshino cherry trees
it was busy as you can see!
I was still trying to find specimens I colour match to....
pretty close!
I don't know why blogger keeps doing it....

the flowering aloe looks even more like the neck or a tortoise

at the end of the evolution garden another patch of grass in the sun - although as we got there the sun went behind a cloud!

we headed to the cafe for early(ish) refreshments
updating FB with some photos....
it was busy as you can see!
this cherry tree has really come into bloom well since last week (lots more to come though)
approaching the glade, one pink magnolia on the other side of the path

this is in a bed towards the path as we left the glade..
the fox often seen by the lake was here too
back to magnolias!!
back to magnolias!!
the heron was peering closely through the water for his lunch!! (it was about noon!)
we crossed the lake
as we headed in to check on "my" daisies....
which were looking fabulous
there 's so many of them!
this was along the side of one section that you can't walk down, which is a shame
and we spotted another group of funghi on our way out
I made the mistake of kneeling down for this, had to borrow Kim's crutch to heave myself up off the ground!
and there we leave Kew for another week.
thanks for looking, see you next week (early forecast suggests it should be nice weather again, hopefully it won't change!)
